Corporate bonds have become a key financing tool for funding business needs and growth. The increasing importance of corporate bonds means that treasurers need to understand the structure, products and regulatory trends that affect debt capital markets.
ACTSA in partnership with Bowmans is hosting a series of breakfast seminars over a period of four months covering the key concepts within debt capital markets, corporate restructuring and the laws and regulations that affect them.
Session 3: Corporate Restructuring
An introduction to corporate restructuring, including identifying early warning signs of financial distress, key driver store structuring negotiation tactics and likely out comes.
This seminar offers insight to corporate treasurers on how to handle corporate restructuring in order to avoid the common pitfalls.
The seminar will cover:
- What comprises “restructuring” – the full spectrum from covenant re-sets, “amend and extend”, to operational reorganisations, to defaults, refinancings, and to the formal processes of Business Rescue, compromise and liquidation
- Early impairment warning signs to watch out for, on both an organisational and an industry level basis
- An understanding of the typical issues that will take the forefront of negotiations, both from a debtor and a lender perspective
- Various options available to achieve a consensual restructuring
